Fortafix Calcium Sulpho-Aluminate Cement - CSA70
Fortafix CSA70 is a Chinese sourced Calcium Sulphoaluminate cement manufactured and controlled to European specifications. This cement is usually used in conjunction with Portland cements where it is used to control shrinkage.

This cement is usually used in conjunction with Portland cements where it is used to control shrinkage. Fortafix CSA70 is an expansive agent, to be used in conjunction with Ordinary (32.5, 42.5, 52,5N) or Rapid Hardening (42.5R & 52.5R) Portland cements. Fortafix CSA70 is primarily clinkered Klines compound (C4A3S*), interground with lime (CaO) and some anhydrite.
Suitable For
Used with Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) to enable shrinkage compensation during setting and hardening of a cement formulation.

Application
Exact dosage for compensation of drying shrinkage or to produce positive expansion should be determined by laboratory trials, as effects will differ slightly with different cement sources. As a guide, the addition level for making an expansive concrete (under 100% relative humidity by 28 days age) will be between 5 to 8% by weight of the Portland cement component.
Fortafix CSA 20 will increase compressive strengths at early ages in the order of 2 to 10%, depending on cement source and water cement ratio.
Curing
As for all hydrating cements, do not allow to dessicate. Requires presence of moisture to enable full hydration and expansion.
